Textiles: Manly Beach, Australia

A recent trip to the other side of the globe proved colourful even on the rainiest of days. A surprise downpour whilst out in Manly Beach forced a quick dash into the nearest shop in an attempt to stay dry.

When life gives you rain, make rainbows... And that's exactly what this shop offered. Filled with brightly painted ceramics, whimsical characters on neon fuschia cushions and lovely contrasts of textiles, I wish I could have taken it all home.

Prizes (high fives) for anyone who recognises this place and knows the name?

Coveting Valentino

As the old saying goes, 'money can't buy happiness,' but, it can buy this four-figure Valentino sweatshirt... *Let's all cry in the corner.* At least it's free to stare at. The dark backdrop really sets off the gorgeous detailed jungle applique designs.

1, 2, 3... Stare:

Cutest. Calendar. Ever.

Whilst browsing Etsy, I came across this tiny, illustrated calendar and just had to buy it due to it's fantastical and contemporary design. The brand is 'Prism of Starlings' and the designer is Kirsty Baynham, from the city of Glasgow. She describes her work as an exploration of the emotions and interactions between wildlife, plants and architecture, using intricate pattern shapes. See more of her wonderful illustrated products on her website, Facebook or on Etsy
