'Sugarlump and the Unicorn' is a beautiful children's book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by the ridiculously talented Lydia Monks.
After leaving college, Lydia worked for newspapers and magazines but had always wanted to illustrate children's books. Having been unsuccessful in finding a book for her to illustrate, Lydia took matters into her own hands and wrote her own. It was called 'I wish I were a Dog' which won the Bronze Smarties Prize in 1999.
Since then, she has been extremely successful in her field as a children's book illustrator and has gone on to illustrate more than 70 books worldwide.
